For those who may have only heard a few recent tracks from us we welcome you to our style and sound.

We are not like other labels as we create all our music from our studio's and have a sound that is ours.

Our sound is best described as serious bassline driven club music.

We make Quality music that should be played loud and with the bassline kicking it for real!!

The basic info......

Strictly Underground was established in 1988 by Mark"Ruff"Ryder
who is an accomplished DJ Producer He is passionate about
underground music and has had many years to perfect his sound.
Mark has been making music on strictly Underground and other
labels since 1987 and has always stayed true to the scene he
loves (the UK Underground Clubbing scene).
He can be very diverse in his musical selections but always stays
within the clubbing experience.
Strictly Underground is just one bow to the many sounds that Mark
Can create but he only makes music for himself and not for chart
credibility or popularity. Mark was recently quoted as saying
"I know there are others out there like me who love the sound of
the bassline dropping, I have been into bass since I can
remember and all my music has to kick the bass end to F**K!"

Most music Mark makes does not have his name attached to it as he believe that the music should stand alone and be judged on its merits.

"If I have to describe the music I make, I would have to say that I make "Energy music" no matter what genera of music it is, House/UKgarage/Drum and Bass etc...

I always have to get the raving energy in my tracks, that's the part of the music that can be found in all genera's of clubbing culture and that is the music I make. I don't want to be a purist about the different styles I just want to feel the energy that is in all of them and be one of the ravers feeling it and avin it!"

The current Strictly Underground Releases are the first time that Mark has openly used his name on his work.
Hopefully people will be able to identify with his sound and follow his releases with anticipation. P.S Mark Got the name "Ruff Ryder" Because it is how everyone described his Tunes when the bassline drops! RUFFF!
